Configuring and Reconnecting the Salesforce Integration in Alice
Overview
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for accessing and configuring the Salesforce integration within the Alice platform. It covers how to navigate to the integration settings, handle a disconnected or out-of-sync Salesforce integration, and reach the configuration screen. The guide also highlights what to expect if the integration is already connected and how to proceed with post-connection configuration.
Prerequisites
- Admin or integration management permissions in Alice
- Salesforce integration must be available in your Alice account
- If reconnecting, be aware that disconnecting Salesforce will remove existing field mappings
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Navigate to Settings
-
From the Alice dashboard, locate the left-hand navigation menu.
-
Click Settings at the bottom of the menu.

2. Access the Integrations Tab
-
On the Settings page, select the Integrations tab at the top.

3. Locate Salesforce Integration
-
On the Integrations page, find the Salesforce integration card.
-
If you see a Configure button, click it to proceed.
- If you are redirected to another integration (such as Slack), look for a notification or link related to Salesforce (e.g., “here” in a CRM sync error message) and click it.

4. Handle Out-of-Sync or Not Synced Status
-
If Salesforce shows a Not Synced status and a message to disconnect and reconnect, click Disconnect in the upper right of the Salesforce integration section.

-
In the confirmation dialog, review the warning that disconnecting will remove your field mappings. Click I understand, disconnect Salesforce to proceed.

5. Re-access Salesforce Integration
-
After disconnecting, you will return to the Integrations page. Locate the Salesforce card again and click Configure.
- If clicking Configure takes you to the wrong integration, use the direct Salesforce link if available.

6. Review the Salesforce Integration Configuration Page
-
Once on the Salesforce integration page, you should see the status as Synced (if the connection is active) and several configuration sections:
- Mapping: For mapping Alice fields to Salesforce fields
- Enable writing to Salesforce: For setting write permissions
- Sourcing exclusions: For excluding existing Salesforce records from outreach
- Owner settings: For managing record ownership

Important:
- If the integration is already connected and synced, you will not see the initial connection flow (sub-domain input, Salesforce OAuth window, or permission grant). You can only access post-connection configuration options.
- If you need to change the Salesforce account or re-authenticate, you must disconnect and reconnect as described above.
Troubleshooting
Common Issues and Solutions
- Redirected to the wrong integration page:
- Use the direct Salesforce link in any CRM sync error notification if available.
- Salesforce shows Not Synced or sync errors:
- Disconnect and reconnect the integration as described in Step 4.
- Field mappings lost after disconnect:
- You will need to reconfigure field mappings after reconnecting.
- Cannot access sub-domain or OAuth steps:
- These are only available when connecting Salesforce for the first time or after a disconnect.
When to Seek Help
- If you cannot access the Salesforce integration page or encounter persistent errors, contact your Alice platform administrator or support team.
Success Criteria and Verification
- You have successfully accessed the Salesforce integration configuration page.
- The integration status shows Synced.
- You can view and edit Mapping, Enable writing to Salesforce, Sourcing exclusions, and Owner settings sections.
- If you needed to reconnect, the integration no longer shows a Not Synced or error status.
Additional Tips
- Always review the warning before disconnecting Salesforce, as this will remove your existing field mappings.
- After reconnecting, verify all configuration settings and mappings to ensure data syncs as expected.
- Use screenshots in this guide to confirm you are on the correct page at each step.
