Sourcing and Enrolling Contacts by Job Title in Alice Campaigns

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for sourcing and enrolling contacts with the job title “Software Engineer” into a new campaign in Alice. You will learn how to use audience filters, verify your selections, and proceed to the next phase of campaign setup. Screenshots are included to illustrate each critical step.

Prerequisites

  • Permission to create campaigns in Alice
  • Access to the Campaigns dashboard

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Start a New Campaign

  1. Navigate to the Campaigns dashboard in Alice.

  2. Click the Create Campaign button on the left side of the screen.

2. Select a Campaign Template

  1. In the SELECT PLAY modal, choose Cold outbound. This template is designed for personalized cold outreach to new prospects.

3. Choose Audience Source

  1. In the SELECT AUDIENCE SOURCE modal, select Find new leads. This option enables you to use filters to source contacts directly from Alice’s database.

  2. Click Continue to proceed.

4. Apply Audience Filters

  1. On the Audience step, locate the AUDIENCE FILTERS panel on the left.

  2. Click Contact Details to expand the filter group.

  3. In the Job Title field, type Software Engineer.

  4. When the dropdown suggestions appear, click Software Engineer to select it.

  5. (Optional) Add additional filters such as Location, Seniority Level, or Technologies to further refine your audience.

5. Review and Confirm Audience

  1. Review the preview of matching leads displayed on the right. In this example, 887,926 leads were found for “Software Engineer”. The preview will show sample contacts matching your criteria.
  • Ensure the number of leads and sample profiles match your expectations.

6. Proceed to Research and Messaging

  1. Click Next in the upper right to move to the Research step.
  2. On the Research tab, review the campaign research configuration. Alice will begin preparing research for your selected leads. You will see an example lead research summary (e.g., for a Software Engineer at Amazon Web Services).

  1. Continue through the Messaging and Settings steps as needed to complete your campaign setup.

Success Criteria and Verification

  • The Job Title filter for “Software Engineer” is applied and visible in the filter panel.
  • The preview panel displays a list of leads matching your criteria (e.g., 887,926 leads found in this example).
  • The system transitions to the Research step, showing an example lead that matches your filter.
  • Alice will automatically verify and enrich contacts before enrolling valid contacts into your campaign.

Troubleshooting

  • No leads found:
    • Double-check the spelling of the job title.
    • Try removing or adjusting additional filters.
  • Dropdown does not appear:
    • Ensure you have typed at least part of the job title and wait for suggestions.
  • Unexpected results in preview:
    • Review all applied filters for accuracy.
    • Remove filters one by one to isolate the issue.
  • Cannot proceed to next step:
    • Ensure at least one valid filter is applied and that the system has finished loading the preview.
