This guide provides step-by-step instructions for setting up pre- and post-event outreach campaigns in 11x.ai using a CSV file to import your audience. You will learn how to start a new campaign, select the appropriate configuration, and reach the point where you can upload your attendee list for personalized outreach.

  • You will reach the CSV upload interface, ready to import your event attendee list and proceed with campaign creation.

Prerequisites

  • You must have a CSV file containing your event attendee list, with at least the following columns:
    • Required: First Name, and either Email or LinkedIn Profile URL
    • Recommended: Job Title, Company, Industry, Notes (for improved personalization)
  • Appropriate permissions to create campaigns in 11x.ai

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Navigate to the Campaigns Dashboard

  • From the main navigation menu, click Campaigns to open the campaigns dashboard.

  • Locate and click the Create Campaign button in the left sidebar.

Expected Outcome: A modal window appears prompting you to select a campaign template.

2. Select the Campaign Template

  • In the SELECT PLAY modal, scroll to the ADVANCED section.

  • Click the Custom option. This allows you to manually configure all campaign settings for advanced customization.

Expected Outcome: The system prompts you to select how you want to source your campaign audience.

3. Choose Audience Source: Upload a CSV

  • In the SELECT AUDIENCE SOURCE modal, select Upload a CSV.

  • Click the Continue button to proceed.

Expected Outcome: You are taken to the CSV upload interface for audience import.

4. Review the CSV Upload Interface and Requirements

  • The Import Contacts from CSV panel appears, showing:

    • Required columns: First Name and either Email or LinkedIn Profile URL
    • Recommended columns: Job Title, Company, Industry, Notes
  • The Upload CSV area is visible, allowing you to click or drag and drop your file.

  • Below, you will see the MAP CSV section, where you can map your CSV columns to the appropriate fields in 11x.ai.

Expected Outcome: You are ready to upload your CSV file and map the columns.

5. Next Steps: Upload and Map Your CSV (User Action Required)

  • Click the Upload CSV area or drag and drop your attendee list file.
  • Select your CSV file from your computer (ensure it is UTF-8 encoded).
  • Wait for the system to validate your file and display a preview of your audience.
  • Map each column from your CSV to the corresponding field in the MAP CSV section.
  • Once mapping is complete and the preview looks correct, click Next to proceed to the Messaging step.

Note:

  • If any required columns are missing, update your CSV and re-upload.
  • If you encounter errors (e.g., invalid file type), ensure your file is saved as CSV (UTF-8).

Troubleshooting

  • Missing Required Columns:

    • Error: System prompts that First Name or Email/LinkedIn Profile URL is missing.
    • Solution: Edit your CSV to include the required columns and re-upload.
  • Upload Area Not Responding:

    • Solution: Refresh the page and ensure your browser allows file uploads.
  • Invalid File Type Error:

    • Solution: Save your file as CSV (UTF-8) and try again.
  • Cannot Find ‘Create Campaign’ Button:

    • Solution: Refresh the page or check with your administrator for campaign creation permissions.

Success Criteria and Verification

  • You have reached the CSV upload interface, with your attendee list ready for import.
  • The system displays a preview of your audience and allows you to map columns.
  • You are able to proceed to the next step (Messaging) after successful upload and mapping.

Tip: For best results, include as many recommended columns as possible in your CSV to enable more personalized outreach messages.
